Giraffe Kiss, Acrylic inks |
I have had a pretty uneventful week. Someone told me they had lost 25lb by not eating sugar and that it 'wasn't very difficult.' I am always looking for lazy ways to lose weight.....not that I ever really stick to any of these things but hey ho.
I did okay with no sugar on Monday.
I ate three chocolate biscuits and some leftover bread pudding on Tuesday.
Wednesday and Thursday were ok as I just had some sugar on some Weetabix which doesn't count :)
Friday I don't think I officially ate any sugar, just, you know the stuff they put into ketchup, pasta sauce etc.
Well, it's been a week of swings and roundabouts. Maybe just eating less sugar is good enough!!
Have you ever tried not eating sugar and was it hard?
Here's my latest acrylic inks painting: GIRAFFE KISS.
You can buy PRINTS, CUSHIONS, PHONE COVERS etc. of this design HERE.
Have a great weekend!

I'm sure not eating sugar is hard, as so many ready made products are sugared. But I don't use extra sugar on things, and the occasional (!?) cookie or piece of chocolate shouldn't hurt that much! Love your kissing giraffes, wonderful colours. Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteadorable giraffe painting Emma! I have never tried going totally without sugar but am not into sweets anyway. the problem would be all the foods one eats that have hidden sugars in them. And does the "no sugar" diet include fruits. Hey you gave it a try:) Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteSo so cute and also the guinea pigs.... so lovely!
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF!
♥♥♥
Happy weekend!

love your use of colours what a beautiful piece
ReplyDeleteGreat vibrant giraffes Emma.
ReplyDeleteAs for the sugar issue, I don't actually eat it unless it's in products or big chunks of chocolate! I used to have tea with three teaspoons of sugar when I was a teenager but weened myself off it over two weeks.
Now I can't imagine drinking it with even a few granules in it.
Happy PPF to you and good luck with the sugar reducing ;D
Yeah wierdly enough I can drink tea without sugar but can also eat my bodyweight in cake to go with it :) I deserve to go in the Guiness Book of Records!
DeleteWhat a lovely painting. Awww. Love the mix of bright colours, too! :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard the same thing about sugar for losing weight but also know it's tricky to do. Good luck with that. My niece has challenged me to do the same...wondering when I'll be able to do that with all of the tea an cakes here. lol
Yes come on! If I have a cup of tea I need a biscuit or a nice slice of fruitcake. Oh well I will keep on trying :)
DeleteI'm wonderig do giraffes like suge, they look so sweet anyway 😉
ReplyDeleteIn my young age I didn't like suge at all, but now I cant resist it...
Lets enjoy - sweet weekend to you ☺
First off these giraffes are AWESOME!!!!!! You did a fabulous job on them. Second I have not eaten sugar in 10 years. Now let's clarify this. There is nothing one can do with the sugar in tomato sauce, and other processed foods. When I make snacks they are sweetened with natural stevia, or sweet potato or something like that. I really don't eat much snacks. I do bake for DH and he gets sugars. Once you stop eating sugar it is not difficult to stay away from it. In fact for me it is so sweet it is icky. I did it to help with the lupus. Yes I did loose weight.
ReplyDeleteGood to know it can be done. I suppose what motivated you was a medical condition while I just have a muffin top :) I will try the Stevia.

DeleteWonderful giraffes! I love the fab colors you used in the background. I have known people who have gone off sugar and they did lose weight as well as feel better. I tried it and my results sounded like yours. I did manage to get off sugar in my tea but I can't give up chocolate.
ReplyDeleteI love the sweet giraffe couple, as well as the amazing and unique color splashes you incorporated. I'm having trouble loosing weight, so I can relate to the process. Blessings!
ReplyDeletecute giraffes and gorgeous bright colours :)
ReplyDeleteI've had to cut out a lot of sugar, gives me migraines, so really check labels on everything and its hidden in so many things you think it wouldn't be
Love your giraffe kiss sooo much! Adorable! SIL Beardo lost about 60 pounds a year ago....he didn't weigh himself, he didn't deprive himself of anything...he just started making better choices...yes he cut down on sugar items..but because he was eating so many good foods...hemp, chia seed, fruit smoothy every morning..big salad with feta, sunflower seeds no dressing for lunch, lots of vegies with dinner, he didn't crave things the same. He still had ice cream, pizza and goodies weekly..my daughter lost weight too...she doesn't weigh herself either. SIL needed a new wardrobe because nothing fit... Cupcake fluctuates up and down a few pounds all the time...but gauges everything on how her clothes fit. Beardo weaned me very very slowly off of a lifetime of sweet and low in my coffee and tea. It took about a year...now I only use creamer...and I find so many things way too sweet now. Sugar in my coffee now is so gross and I could never use sweet and low again! That's a good thing. Don't be too hard on yourself...just do it very slow...cut down first... if you crave it, eat it. The more you have sugar the more you want! Cold turkey is just a great road to failure!! Make small changes they do work...

LOVE this! Great colours and whimsical theme.
ReplyDeleteSweet painting! I LOVE sugar but
ReplyDeleteI do watch it.
Great painting! I hope the photo is small, and it's really a BIG painting. It deserves to be.
ReplyDeleteI could give up sugar easier than I could give up cheese or coffee.

ReplyDeleteThe giraffes are beautiful! You did some phantastic artwork! And it was interesting to read your notes about sugar. Maybe I'll try to reduce sugar as well next week. You have motivated me.

I really love the colors you've chosen for the background, and also that you used different spots for the two giraffes. So Whimsical.
ReplyDeleteYour painting is beautiful and colourful. I find giving sugar up hard to do, but try not to eat to much of sugar.
ReplyDeleteso whimsical.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your colorful giraffe painting! As for the sugar, I found that the only way is to go cold turkey but it is SO hard! Good luck.

ReplyDeleteLove your giraffes, Emma!
ReplyDeleteI've always preferred savoury over sweet foods so going without sugar would be easy for me. I'm not a sweet tooth at all but, occasionally, I may have a sweet biscuit/cookie, cake, or chocolate slice. The brain needs natural sugars, particularly those in plants...such as fruits, agave nectar, sucanat, etc. Processed sugars are not good for the body. I went vegan (for the animals) a year ago and lost 10 kilo (22 pounds) in six months. My higher-than-average cholesterol levels returned to normal also. It was a win/win.
Have a lovely weekend!
Totally love this! Colors are fantastic! :)
