Happy Frogs

I have been very sad and very angry about the outcome of the election. But when all is said and done it was the usual problem of 46% not voting leaving the arena wide open for Trump to seize victory. Let us instead try and move forward however difficult it is.

I was very sad to hear about Leonard Cohen dying. What a wonderful poet and singer he was. He said he was depressed for much of his life but his songs are curiously uplifting, especially in these very dark times.

Nevertheless I managed to paint some poison dart frogs, this time as a surface pattern design. I call them happy frogs although who knows if frogs have feelings or not?

Poison dart frogs are amazingly beautiful creatures which lend themselves to an abstract design. Unfortunately their rain forest habitat is under threat.

Have a great weekend and let's hope for happier times!

  1. Those frogs are really beautiful, shame that all over the world nature is in danger because of man's greed. Leonard Cohen will be sorely missed, I hope he i singing his Hallelujah now. Hugs, Valerie

  7. Fabulous frogs. We never know why people don't vote but I don't think it would have mattered. Now we must stand together and pray he doesn't go through with the things he said he was going to do.

  10. Beautiful illustration of the frog with his surroundings. I too was saddened by the death of the great artist Cohen. His "Hallelujah" will forever be one of the most beautiful of songs. Maybe it is because when I watched videos of his singing it, it seemed like he was really expressing praise not just singing.

  13. These frogs look great. I think it was smart to leave them black and white and make the background so colorful. They really pop off the page. Like you I am glad the election is over but these results almost make me wish it wasn't.
